The idea behind this project was to design and build an engine for ultra high revs. Rod ratio, rod length, and bore to stroke ratio were optimized to support high volumetric efficiency.
No expense was spared on this motor. It is stuffed full of only the absolute BEST parts available. The foundation of this motor is an extended deck height block expertly machined to AMS specifications.
Timeserts are installed to accept huge 13mm ARP head studs. Extra thick cylinder walls are bored and honed to accept drag specific Ross racing pistons which are hard anodized and have a friction reducing skirt coating applied. The forged pistons and aircraft aluminum rods have been specially designed for strength while reducing weight to minimize stress on wrist pins, rods and bearings. The rotating assembly is meticulously balanced to the gram.
This is the exact motor ATS runs in their record holding 1130 AWHP EVO VIII that runs 8.42 @ 171 mph!
