The fitment of this hose illuminates the sound resonator on the intercooler. Rather than installing a straight pipe in place of the reasonator, that requires hose connections, Forge found that by completely smoothing the airflow using a one piece replacement hose reduced the resistance in this intake circuit, equating to more more. As an added bonus this hose is available in red, blue, or black ( a real stealth install) and will withstand greater temperatures and pressures than the original hose.
