The Starter Heat Shield was developed to eliminate starter problems caused by close proximity of the exhaust to the starter. The radiant heat of the exhaust produces enough heat to destroy the winding of the started and solenoid. To combat this problem, Thermo-Tec developed an easy to install strap on heat barrier to reflect the heat produced by the exhaust.
The universal kit enables the user to insulate the started and solenoid. The unique construction of the aluminized material provides protection by reflectiing 90% of radiant heat, up to 2000 degrees.
