Unorthodox Ultra S - Lightened Crank Pulleys

Here are the tried and true crank pulleys from Unorthodox; the ones we're all familiar with. In this series, additional power gains are seen from the underdriving of all the accessories (which accounts for about 15% additional gain).

However, they do not push the amount of underdrive for two main reasons:
  • It is important to keep charging systems, air conditioning, power steering, and water pumps moving fast enough for every day driving.
  • Not much horsepower is gained from extreme underdriving.


In most applications all of the underdriving is done with the crank pulley, not the accessory pulleys. This is done so maximum weight loss can be achieved at the crank where most of the horsepower gains are found. Most Ultra Series underdrive crank pulleys are available in natural polished aluminum as well as black, red, and blue anodizing.

902/09/2012SupraProduct was easy to install with no modification needed on both the part and the car. Part had a little marring from manufacturing but nothing a little emery cloth couldn't fix. Car runs great much better than the stock pulley.
1005/09/2011xAInstalled on my 05 Toyota Echo hatch. Engine feels better with this reduced weight, plus I added a lightweight fidanza flywheel. I had to use a custom length belt because I have no power steering and no a/c, but its a little detail in all. Love it!
905/17/2009IntegraGreat fitment, much lighter than stock, and looks much better than the OEM part. I noticed quicker acceleration and +2 MPG when installed at the same time as a lightened flywheel. I rate it at 9 because they stopped making it in blue, the color I wanted.

909/10/2005SupraThe unorthodox pulley was shipped pretty fast. The pulley is also rather easy to install and you will notice a slight increase in hp. This is a great product, and Horsepowerfreaks is a good company. the tech support was also great.

507/01/2004Cougaryou won't notice a significant power gain on a part such as this but it does the job. I have no leaks or problems there is a engine noise I noticed after installation but its not a problem. I did have some fit problems try sanding part and crank some also heat the pulley in the oven to expand the metal, and if you can get some anti-static freeze spray to cool down the crank snub to that helps. also play it safe and buy an new front main seal.
