Barum is a tire manufacturing company based in the Czech Republic. Established back in 1948, it is a subsidiary of Bata Shoes that created rubber-soled boots in Czechoslovakia. Back in the days, Bata Shoes decided to create their own tires to lower their own operation cost. Then in 1945, three major rubber-producing companies in Czechoslovakia - Bata, Rubena, and Mitas merged. It was eventually seized by the state and Barum was created. To prove its performance, it participated in various motorsport competitions between 1931 and 1960 and won in its own right.
