Walero, headquartered in Cambridge, the technology capital of Europe, is a company that strives to provide motorsport with the most technologically advanced FIA and SFI approved temperature-regulating motorsports apparel possible. Walero has utilized NASA technology to create the most advanced motorsport race wear available on the market. Utilizing NASA-developed technology, they have created the most advanced FR underwear on the market. These base layers are scientifically designed by drivers for drivers. Their underwear actively regulates the wearer's body temperature, reducing the effects of heat stress and fatigue, enhancing driver performance and ensuring maximum comfort. Walero products are designed, tested, and relied upon by racing drivers around the world, and their product lines will defy your expectations and keep you on track.
Fiona James has competed at the highest levels of equestrianism and is now a successful international GT3 racer. All of this indicates that she understands the needs of race drivers and has a passion for performance. It's the little things that matter and can be the difference between first and last ? they pay so much attention to the car that they must also take care of the driver. With heat stress being such a major concern and affecting performance to such a great extent, they must utilize every available advantage to give them an edge over their competitors. Which is why Fiona James was determined to create a more efficient, innovative, and elegant solution than those currently on the market. Good is not enough if you have a good eye for detail and a strong desire to do well.
Walero temperature-regulating race wear is completely flame-retardant and scientifically designed to regulate body temperature, improve driver performance, and ensure maximum comfort. Originally developed for NASA, Outlast technology employs phase change materials (PCM). A phase change material (PCM) is a substance with a high heat of fusion that can store and release large amounts of energy by melting and solidifying at a specific temperature, therefore maintaining the desired temperature for a longer period of time. PCMs are classified as latent heat storage (LHS) units because heat is absorbed or released during the solid-to-liquid and liquid-to-solid transitions. Micro-encapsulated Outlast phase change materials are permanently encased and shielded by a polymer shell. Micro-encapsulated phase change materials are known as ThermoculesTM. This encapsulation method renders the ThermoculesTM extraordinarily durable. Incorporated into their fibers and fabrics, these ThermoculesTM have the capacity to absorb, store, and release excess heat. This allows the Walero base layers to continuously regulate the microclimate of the skin. As the skin warms, it absorbs heat, and as it cools, it releases that heat. Outlast technology is not a wicking technology, which manages moisture by reacting to perspiration and removing it from the skin. The Outlast technology will proactively manage heat while preventing the formation of moisture.
Walero product materials also include Protal, a permanent flame retardant (FR) fiber. Unlike non-permanently FR-treated materials, theirs never lose their protective qualities. The fibers also do not expose the skin to chemical additives. They then combine this with a variety of other fibers to create their distinctive Walero yarn. This yarn is then knitted together to create their renowned ultra-soft fabric for their racing underwear, which is then sewn with flat-lock seams to create motorsport underwear by Walero. All Walero base layers are compliant with FIA and SFI standards. Moreover, Envirotech+, a nontoxic, hospital-grade antimicrobial, has been added to their race wear. It is 99.99% effective against many common bacteria as well as many fungal spores and viruses.
Their product line includes temperature-regulating race underwear, Cobra X Walero Ultralite Race Seat, BioEdge+ Antimicrobial Sanitizer, and merchandise.
The products of Walero Motorsports included in Vivid Racing are head shocks, legs, tops, and the X-New Era beanie.
