Nascar Roots
The early years of stock car racing proved Air Lift?s air springs? supreme versatility. Our products were widely used for twenty years by nearly every stock car racing team and our cars were among the top competitors on the NASCAR Grand National Circuit. We are proud of our racing roots and are committed to customizing our products for your needs on the road.
In the 1950s, Air Lift pioneered the use of air spring inserts in coil suspensions.
By the 1960s we were already introducing sleeve-type air springs on pickup truck suspensions.
Then, in the 1980s, we provided air helper springs for motor homes and ambulances. Our constant ingenuity paved the way for street rods and lowered vehicles in the 1990s.
Today?s products are an evolution of Air Lift?s revolutionary development programs that apply the use of air springs in light truck and motor home suspensions. Air Lift has received the most awards in the industry from SEMA, recognizing our commitment to quality and innovation.

Air Lift was founded by GE Engineer, Claude Pemberton, and Oldsmobile Toronado Developer Don Perkins back in 1949.
During those days, families in the US tend to travel frequently across the country with heavy loads, causing premature wear on the suspension. Seeing the need for a solution, Air Lift was created to produce a suspension that would help support the vehicle's added load while improving the ride and safety. Today, Air Lift has been widely used by enthusiasts worldwide.
Air Lift products were not only used for supporting heavy loads but were used as performance upgrades for NASCAR race cars, especially during the '50s and '60s. It allows racers to adjust their suspension depending on their need, and having that full control gave the teams a competitive advantage.
Their product helped improve the cars handling performance, giving cars equipped with Air Lift the advantage to win races. They have been used for 20 years by top racing teams and have been very competitive up until the rules were changed regarding suspension upgrades.
